Welcome to the Limpsfield Chart Golf Club website. We hope you enjoy your round!

Clubhouse

The first Club House opened in 1890, and consisted of a timber building with 3 small rooms. A kitchen and bar were added in 1897, and 1928 saw the installation of electric lighting, carried out by the Sevenoaks District Electric Company at a cost of £21.10s.

Since then a number of additions and alterations have been made, resulting in the Clubhouse as it is today

Viewed from the outside, the club house is a curious mixture of pitched roofs over a timber frame

The dark-stained wooden cladding and rosewood Trophy boards give the bar and dining-room a rustic and homely atmosphere, as well as a great sense of history and tradition.

Because of the relatively small membership, there is very much a family feel to it, and Sunday lunchtimes in particular, used for prize presentations and other announcements are often quite vocal. The bell over the fireplace is only ever rung by the Captain to preface his announcements, or by a prizewinner wishing to buy those present a drink. Both are greeted with equal enthusiasm! Well, almost.....

This is also the time when the diaries come out, and matches are arranged, sometimes months ahead

The number of trophy boards bears witness to the quantity and variety of competitions held during the year. Strokeplay and matchplay, singles, better ball and foursomes, bogeys and medal matchplay, all are represented. Getting your name on a board is the ultimate achievement.
