On Wednesday 7th August, the men's team were eager to continue their winning streak as they hosted Tandridge. The sun was shining, legs on full display as the players teed off.
Colin Hards and Phil Trayner halved their match on the 18th green, in a hard fought affair against the Tandridge captain. Unfortunately, Richard Jashek and Mark Burge were not as fortunate, losing on the final hole with Tandridge holing a lengthy putt for victory.
However, Gwyn Edwards and Sean Harvey turned the tide with the first point, coming back from being 2 down with only 6 holes to play to win 2up. The standout performance of the day belonged to John Solari and Michael McManus, who dominated their match from hole 1 with an impressive 8 and 7 victory. Michael even managed to drive the 1st hole much to Gwyn's surprise as he putted out.
As the sun began to set, Peter Masters and Gerard Kelly sealed the win for Limpsfield with a solid 4 and 2 victory. The Tandridge captain graciously acknowledged the tough competition, noting that winning at Limpsfield was no easy feat but they were getting closer each time.
In the end, the match resulted in a well-deserved win for Limpsfield with a score of 3.5 to 1.5. Up the Chart! Next match will be away at Horne Park followed by the final match of the year at home to Reigate Heath
